Okay maybe I was a little strongly worded at telling the rude person "fuck you" at the beginning.....but just.. UGH. *throws hands up* the world has gone mad.

I think people are putting themselves in the place of the brother in a context we know very little about and think about how they would have reacted. It's a very emotionally charged debate, in which people are not reacting to the OP but to themselves, so don't let it get to you.

Maybe OP of the secret and her brother were estranged. Maybe they had grown apart. Maybe they didn't even know their brother needed help. When I was in high school, a boy said "have a nice day" to the lady who drove him to school with a friend, and he proceeded to throw himself out of a third floor window after setting his bag on fire. His TWIN BROTHER didn't know it had gotten to this point.

After that people started accusing the boy's ex-girlfriend of causing his death to the point of her needing to be hospitalised because she couldn't handle the pressure, but that's another story.

Oh wow that's awful.

I always hate seeing people making assumptions about 'what they would do' and letting it judge their treatment of people who are actually INVOLVED and dealing with it.

(like a person on a message board for some mocie about a domestic abuse victim who was all "I have no pity for the girl, she was dumb she could have just left" like wow are you actually that naive?)

EDIT: according to the rude blogger , the OP is saying that they didn't know their brother needed their support without the help of a Disney movie and thus they MUST be a shitty sibling. whatever.
