ff.net stats?

(Anonymous) 2014-01-06 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Context: I haven't posted anything on the pit in a long time (haven't even gone back to it since 2003 or so since I more or less fell out of fandom for a while) and now that I'm writing again I was wondering if you all wouldn't mind sharing your approximate ratios of reviews to views.

So far I'm coming up on 0:100 for all of the stuff I've posted. Just want to know if this is the norm these days.

depends on the fandom, but that sounds about right

most people never leave comments

Seems about right to me, too. My most-viewed fic on the site has a review-to-view ratio of 1:901 and my most recently posted is at 1:40, so /shrug/

I've only got the two fics that I wrote for an inactive fandom so:

Fic 1, 30k in 2006, is 3,179 views and no reviews
Fic 2, an abandoned sequel in 2010, 15k, 862 views and 3 reviews asking me to continue

I'm not bothered, I was doing it for fun. I wish I could get the energy to finish it. 2014 would continue my pattern.

Depends on fandom really. I posted something Friday night, after not posting something in 4 years (completely different fandoms) The one I posted 4 years ago? I think it has something like 800 views and 3 reviews.

The new one?
On ff.net, I have 2 reviews, 300 views, 17 follows, and 3 favorites.

On AO3, I have 3 kudos and 86 views.

It is a multi-chapter fic, so I'm hoping a few more reviews come in, but I'm just glad it's getting so many hits, considering how long it's been since i posted anything.

Srsly depends on the fandom.

I've three stories up,
first two HP:
212 reveiws out of 83,000 hits
287 reviews out of 107,000 hits

Misc fandom:
15 reviews out of 2,000 hits

My most reviewed fic on ff.net, an old unfinished WIP that is on hiatus for probably forever, has 298 reviews and 25,046 views. My most recent fic on ff.net has 2815 views and 32 reviews. The same fic on AO3 has 828 views and 46 kudos, plus 8 comments. So less views, but technically more notice depending on whether you count kudos as equal to ff.net reviews or not. I'd consider it about averaging itself out, myself. I don't really know of there's any particular average one would consider 'normal,' it really depends on the fandom and often what pairing you're writing for (both my fics I gave stats for above were for the most popular pairings in their respective fandoms, for example).

I checked and it ranges between 1 review per 70 views and 1 per 200.
