(Anonymous) 2014-01-07 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
FYI, I almost didn't answer because you used the term receipts. Which is such a stupid fucking term.

> In March, Brenda Romero, a 30-year vet of the industry who has worked on 22 games over her career, including “Dungeons and Dragons,” abruptly resigned as co-chair of the Intl. Game Developers Assn.’s Women in Games group after the org co-sponsored a party at this year’s Games Developer Conference, which employed scantily clad women dancers to entertain guests. During a prior panel, she stressed her disdain for booth babes at E3, saying they made her uncomfortable. “It felt like walking through a construction site,” she said. “Why do I feel this way? I founded this fucking industry, you motherfuckers. I felt like I was receiving a lot of gazes I didn’t want to receive.”

Copious swearing? Entitlement and bitterness? Hey, she is one of us!

I use HTML all the time and it isn't that hard once you memorize them. I just don't know that one. And I want to.

I actually just keep a word document with useful ones for copy pasting. I don't do it so much these days, but it made homestuck rping a lot easier.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-07 12:43 am (UTC)(link)

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colors.asp for different colors

you can also do face="Font Name" such as Helvetica or Courier to change the font

and style="bold" for bold, italics, etc

it would look like font color="#330099" style ="bold" face="Arial" within the tags

As a person who does monotonous web development work 40 hours a week, I find the sheer giddiness and glee in this thread amusing.

Who are you quo...

oh.

That's not how it's used

[personal profile] insanenoodlyguy 2014-01-07 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
The word is "citations"

It's a real word. Not a shitty sjw one. And it not only works perfectly well but is better for situations like this, since receipts is generally used to refer to somebody's specific action.

I'm not the idiot who uses moron words like receipts. Why do I have to explain this to you?

Hey, there's no reason to be mean. I obviously don't know who this anonymous poster is, but it's a very typical mistake for someone whose first language isn't English.

Okay fair enough. Anon, if you are in fact ESL, I owe you an apology.

If not, my statement stands as is!

Yes, I'm sure someone who has learned enough English--not an easy language--to get around in tumblr communities that use that term definitely can't handle synonyms.

People whose first language isn't English are too stupid for that, apparently.

Re: That's not how it's used

[identity profile] galerian-ash.livejournal.com 2014-01-07 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
...Huh? I don't get what you're trying to say, aside from the fact that you're making a lot of assumptions about this person -- and all based on a single word.

But maybe my lack of understanding has to do with the fact that I'm "too stupid", what with English not being my native tongue.

[personal profile] chardmonster 2014-01-07 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
No, dude. I'm angry because I thought you were implying ESL people are stupid.

I think we're talking past each other?

Re: That's not how it's used

[identity profile] galerian-ash.livejournal.com 2014-01-07 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Hell no -- I was trying to say the opposite, pretty much.

And yeah, we apparently are. Sorry 'bout that!

lmao receipts isn't a sjw term. it's from a whitney houston interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdyaLWMt6qA
