I finally started reading Homestuck (Homestucking? Is there a verb for this?) I'm a little into Act 3 and heard it's going to get a lot more complicated.

but seriously, how are you liking it so far?

I can see how the humor isn't for everyone, but it's good enough for me. The first part was boring but then it picked up and I want to know what happens next. I really like trying to figure out its weird logic and the characters are interesting.

We tell everybody, but so few listen. Glad you did.

If you get confused, the wiki is usually in linear order so you can usually safely avoid spoilers! It's not perfect though.

DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE SOUNDTRACKS. You know the music is awesome. You've heard less then a tenth of it and so much never makes it.

I recommend keeping a list/guide of characters when they are introduced. (Name, internet handle, internet symbol if they have one, their friends, etc.)

It's the only way I managed to keep track of who was who at the beginning.

I had to watch Cascade and read Andrew Hussie's recap like four times to finally get everything that happened.

Also I didn't mind Hussie's recap updates at all back when he still did them because I needed them.

am i the only one who knew exactly what was going on the first time?

I mean, I missed little stuff like this but...

I think it's cause this wasn't my first time at the non-linear rodeo?

Yeah. It gets more complicated but more exciting. I missed the kids when we get to trolls, but then trolls grew on me. It was a fun read.

Whenever you're having trouble following the story, just let it go and focus on the shenanigans and silliness. The wiki is your friend; rereading is your friend; the forum threads where people talk about the plot are your friends. All of them. They are all your friends. Look how many friends you have.
