I think they sold it, gave it away, threw it in the trash, and the secret ended with "I'm destroying this fucking thing." That was it.

I got a big laugh out of it because I don't like that series very much myself (sorry! My tastes lie elsewhere with surhor.)

Oh wow, that's just gold. No need to apologize, I get it. It's right up my alley since I love Japanese folklore and myths about ghosts. I love the atmosphere and the mythology of the series. I

I found the gameplay boring and frustrating and the horror was kind of bog-standard ghost story stuff to me, regardless of its folklore basis.

I prefer Silent Hill, Manhunt* and Dark Souls -- three very different approaches, I know. Dark Souls isn't really scary, I don't think, but those early hours when you have no idea what the fuck you're doing and you know for damn sure something horrible is going to happen are seriously nervewracking. I've never been so scared to enter a new area.

* Actually there was a time about 10 years ago where survival horror tended to focus more on human brutality and evil, as opposed to more overtly supernatural or sci-fi fare like Silent Hill or Resident Evil. There was a certain screwed up overtone to some of the games of that period that really appealed to me. In a way that's why I liked Outlast, because it reminded me of that period. Pity the ending sucked.

I can get the gameplay being boring and it being standard Japanese ghost story fare, but I eat that stuff.

Silent Hill is pretty awesome, well, the first three anyway. I will check out Outlast and Manhunt.

They made more than 3 Silent Hill games?

Nah, you're right. There's only three.

Hahaha, that's my reaction. And they certainly didn't make any movies; it just wouldn't work in film format.

Sure they did, it was called Jacob's Ladder.
