The part that makes me sad is that there are a few printings that escaped the publisher's eagle-eye and red pen, and is even slashier than the barely-approved version that went mass market. I have the second, and while I can spot the slashy elements even in that version I would love to read the first.

It is sad. I would love to read a 1st copy of it. I think it would be a neat look into the history of spock/kirk.

I also have a paperback copy of the second edition but there's copies of the first edition around online if you're looking for them!
