I bet I've seen every single character that I like (white and male or otherwise) called bland at some point, so I just don't pay much attention to it tbh. Are there some bland white dudes? Sure. There are more white dudes in the media, so of course there's going to be more bland white dudes. I do agree there should be more women and minorities in media, but I def don't have anything against white dudes.

I think it's a bit subjective as well tbh because a character I might consider interesting someone else could find bland, and vice-versa.

Yea, there's a LOT of that in fandom. You love a character and find them likable and interesting, someone else hates them beyond measure and falls asleep just thinking about them. *shrugs* It's all subjective.
