Hah, I've kind of started tracking this trend to myself. I'd be watching a new movie in theater and thinking, "I'm calling it, these two dudes are gonna be shipped together. If I go home and don't see slash of this online, I'll eat my handbag." I am seldom wrong.

It's not even slash goggles anymore, just recognition of fandom's depressing predictability.

It's just a recognition of standard behavior. For whatever reason that kind of pairing touches something in fandom's heart and soul. That's why it's repeated so often, it works. What it says about us, I have no idea.

Yes, white/white dude pairings touch something in fandom's heart and soul. Maybe this is why I find it depressing.
