He is married to Sue Virtue, who is basically BBC production royalty. There wouldn't be any Sherlock without her. He more or less slept his way up - considering the endless gender essentialist bullshit that comes from his mouth, I find that endlessly funny.

NA No, you see, Moffset LIKES dominatrixes. You'd think admiring powerful women in this way would be devoid of gender essentialism but sadly the pedestal provides an excellent vantage point to look up women's skirts. We're a whole different, intriguing, terrifying, species.

He goes on about his wife being the boss of him. Loves it. Men are so downtrodden. I used to love reading all his eloquent forum posts back before he was DW head honcho and I knew better. Used to think his writing of Lynda vs Spike was edgy or something. But it's his only song.
