So are people just being racist and saying 'non-white male' must mean interesting - like some kind of ooh if you have different skin than me you're a curiosity? Or is there a valid argument about the quality of acting and writing cos these kind of generalizations really try and marginalize everyone.

An interesting character should be about a whole lot more than the color do their hair or skin. If the characters are boring then they're boring or they're badly acted. Pre-judging is where prejudice comes from and boy there's a lot of it in this thread driven by agendas.

Don't like show A because it has white guys in it - then there's lots of other things to watch. Has anyone done a website that classifies TV shows and movies by cast ethnicity so people can choose the skin color they prefer before tuning in?
