At first, I thought it was aimed at nerds, considering there actually were a few inside jokes that were easier to get if you were a nerd yourself. But the last seasons actually turned the series from "look, it's funny because some of us are silly that way, in an OTT way! Let's laugh at ourselves and at the people who think we really are like that." into the usual "target audience is 'normal' people who want to laugh at those silly nerdy guys - look how pathetic they are. Also: drunk, stupid slut!".
