If only people would stop using this argument to make it sound like the girls and women who likes those characters and ship are morally impure and deserving of vitriol. The privilege of a fictional male doesn't trump that of women in fandom, and I see a lot of people using their scorn for actors and characters as a front to be shits to women in fandom.
