I say this all the time in these threads, but the 10th Doctor's treatment of Harriet Jones. Although I've started to warm up to its existence a little bit, seeing as how it's spawned this:

Hated that moment in canon, kind of love that gif.

The only "good" thing about it in canon (if you can call it "good"), is that the UK actually gets rather fucked up by Ten's choice and Ten himself ultimately suffers from that cocky "let me waltz into a situation and my methods are always the best methods." Because:

1. There is no Golden Age of Britain. Harriet's absence creates a power vacuum that is quickly filled by Harold Saxon, condemning the Earth to a year of - albeit forgotten - chaos and devastation.
2. Taking the events of Torchwood as canon, the continuing power vacuum allows a wet noodle of a Prime Minister to get elected who (because THE DOCTOR WAS NOT THERE, something that Harriet Jones herself used to justify her infamous decision) would have allowed aliens to abduct 10% of Earth's children to use as i-have-no-mouth-and-must-scream drug producers. Oh, and he was a classist asshat about it too.
3. Ten being cocky and thinking he knows best and acting all-holier-than-thou together with Rose, actually got him and Rose banished from the British Empire, contributed to the founding of Torchwood, and ended up laying the foundations for Rose's eventual Doomsday fate.

So, in that sense I'm sort of... not really "okay" with it, but I like how it was ultimately a "bad decision" on his part after you take into account all the other things that happened in the series. I only wish that they hadn't then brought her back just to say "hi" and then be killed in the Stolen Earth.

He did shoot himself in the foot pretty hard with those six words. It's just a shame he shot so many other people in the foot at the same time.

And yeah - bringing Harriet Jones back just to kill her off... :\

This would be my second moment, after Donna's end. If I could take away two, it would be those two.

My personal headcanon is that Donna and Harriet are off being awesome together in Pete's World. Ten Too is less of a dick than Ten, and together they all have adventures around the universe in the Grow-Your-Own TARDIS.

Martha, Wilf, Sarah Jane, Luke, Rani, and Clyde occasionally guest star.

I would like to subscribe to this headcanon.
