I've been thinking about what the best episode of Leverage is, and while I'm not entirely sure that The Rashomon Job is it, it is definitely one of the best! It's funny, and sweet with how the ending shows why they now work together instead of separately <3

The thing for me is, most of the episodes my appreciation of them is in large part rooted in the way the build upon each other--the subtle character arcs, the continuity references, the character growth--whereas I feel like Rashomon is really good even as a stand-alone (although of course its better when you know the characters). It's just PERFECT, argh, the way each of them adds something to the story, the way things fit together like a weird felonious puzzle, the meta of Nate and Parker, omg PARKER where people she doesn't care about sound like Charlie Brown's teacher to her, the shamlessly unreliable narration, let me take this episode home with me and make sweet love to it.

I see your point, but for me, the best episodes are when it's shown how good everybody is as a team - what they can respectively bring to a con. It's the very reason they started working together, after all. So even though The Rashomon Job is one of my favourite episodes, I wouldn't say it's the best because the best for me are the episodes when everything seems lost and then the threads of the plan start coming together perfectly <3
