Re: If you could delete just one incident from a canon, what would it be?

Oh God Torchwood and Donna endings where bad... Why on earth did they think that was a great idea? As someone who had Ianto as their fav, I am oddly okay with his death, but Gwen being the only survivor? Seriously?

I hope they will make up, but I don't think they will and that breaks my heart. Their friendship is awesome!

Gwen living because she's the "heart" made me roll my eyes. I don't hate Gwen, but the fact that she outlives everyone got stale by the end of the series.

SPOILERS for the end of the season (in white):

Cristina's actor is leaving this season. So I really hope they make up. I'm angry that they had her last season filled with Meredith and Cristina fighting. Totally unnecessary.

That was just idiotic. I will quote my friend here "How is it possible to hate a character so much in an otherwise awesome show?" to illustrate how much I dislike Gwen, it started in episode 1 with the throwing around equipement thing, then the cheating and so on. She is the character type I hate the most in fiction: Those characters that are *good* and *nicer* than everyone so we should forgive them everything, because they are so nice! I disliked Izzie for the same reason.

My other friend loves Gwen tho, which makes for interesting conversations about Torchwood.

I was going to say the spoiler thing in my comment, but I wasn't sure you knew or not. I hope they aren't getting them to hate each other to make the Cristina thing "easier".

I want to point out that I don't dislike Gwen because she comes in between my ship, because that isn't true, nor is it a good reason to not like a character. I love Catherine in H50 and she comes between my ship in an huge way...

I made my peace with Gwen in season 3 when she was cute with Rhys and baby (and got a case of mom badassery), but cheating on him AND THEN WIPING HIS MEMORY made me rage. The writers just expected the audience to forgive her as she's Gwen, but that shit was despicable and I don't hold hating Gwen against anyone.

I really hope not too. If that's the writers plans for C/M, then I don't know how I'll continue watching Grey's. My faith in the writing would plummet and I've stayed with it through thick and thin.

Nah, the "will they or won't they" aspect of Gwen/Jack grew on my nerves by the end. Either bang or don't. They were being unfair to their lovers and that shit grates on my nerves.

I actually liked Gwen in the last season! Which was an odd experience for me. Yeah, and the fact that it was expected that we should forgive her for all her faults is probably about 50% of the reason to why I disliked her as much as ended up doing, because all the things she does is things I could forgive a character for doing if they actually somehow had to take responsibility for their actions.

I don't know how I will continue watching Grey's after this season, because Christina is the last of my favourite characters still in the show... Well I still got Karev and Jo*, but will that be enough? It isn't that I don't like Meredith and the rest, but they don't interest me in the same way as Cristina does...

Oh that was bad, I didn't like any part of the Gwen/Jack storyline, but it isn't the reason to why I don't like her.

*I like them both for the same reason, they had shitty childhoods and managed to get ahead in the world anyway...

I like the rest of the Grey's cast, so I can see myself still watching it... but I feel like the dynamic won't be the same... so I'll see how it goes. I won't jump ship until I see how Cristina exits.

I like Jo and Karev too. I wasn't sure if I'd like them hooking up (as I liked the bff dynamic), but they make a cute couple.

I like all of them, or at least don't dislike anyone. (tho I am pretty annoyed by our dear Chief of Surgery atm... Really during the fucking wedding was the right time to decide you want her back? Grow up man! You are running an hospital!). I will never stop watching Grey's, probably not even if they change out all the characters. I am too invested, in it until the end and all that. But it will be odd without Cristina around.

I prefered them as BFFs, but if anyone could date Karev successfully it is Jo, and vice versa, so I am warming up to their relationship. I just hope it doesn't get ruined.

I didn't mind Jackson's outburst. I knew it was coming. I mean, I'd like April and Ambulance boy to be together (Stephanie and Jackson and are cute too), but I hope his outcry brings some delicious angst, haha.

I'd be here for Jo dating Jo, no lies XD I hope their relationship doesn't get ruined either. But who knows what shit Karev's dad will keep stirring up.

I knew it was coming, it just takes a special kind of jackass to do it during a wedding. Most of the reason to why I am watching Grey's is the angst, so I don't mind.

Oh that would be awesome! Yeah, hopefully it will work out, but the dad thing might ruin it.

Also, sorry that I replied this late, I went to sleep and didn't notice I never replied before going through my inbox.

True. He had allll that time to stop April from going through with the wedding. That's why I feel especially bad for Jennifer and ambulance boy.

Hey, no probs :) My comment was pretty open ended. No worries!

I adore Gwen because I was introduced to Torchwood via Children of Earth. But looking back at some of the previous eps I'm like "WHAAAAAAA--"

I think watching Torchwood the way you did would be a lot less enjoyable than from the start. Ianto's death is still one of the few fictional deaths I cried when it happened and I even knew it would come, as F!S managed to spoil me for it.

Sorry but I sorta...really hated season 1 and 2 of Torchwood once I got around to it -- it was just really not my thing at all. Whereas watching CoE without any prior knowledge of the show apart from what I had gleaned from crossovers with Doctor Who -- totally frickin' amazing. Yeah, I cared far more about the central plot than Ianto's death or the details about the characterization and relationships, but I was viewing it as if it was its own story, and as a story, the plot WAS a bigger deal than Ianto's death.

Though I actually slightly retroactively soured on CoE once I checked out the backstory by watching season 1 and 2. When I watched CoE, the only character I knew anything about was Jack, so I viewed the whole arc as an amazing if incredibly bleak standalone miniseries, as if it was an adaptation of an original novel set in the Doctor Who universe, rather than a savagely darker-and-edgier third season of an established-cast show that irreparably exploded everything that made the show what it was and broke up the remainder of the core cast. Even if I didn't actually like what the show was in season 1 and 2, I can still appreciate how the fans must have felt.

I really get where you are coming from actually!

I actually liked CoE, and I don't mind that Ianto died, but it was quite sad.

I really envy your way of watching Torchwood, as it stands I don't have any need to rewatch it, the day will probably come tho.
