Re: If you could delete just one incident from a canon, what would it be?
(Anonymous) 2014-01-11 03:01 am (UTC)(link)I'm glad that the creators of Leverage handled it better. I might have to check out the show.
I suppose it is more of a concept bashing instead of straight up character bashing like you said, but I still feel a bit hypocritical. The Uchiha were alright for part of the series and the massacre of them had a lot of potential, but it was just utterly squandered. Everything bad that happens to them is because they love too much or some bullshit. Don't get me wrong, the reveal that Itachi was a bit more complex would have been okay if hadn't gone so far into the other direction that it made me long for the days when he it looked like he did it for the hell of it. And Sasuke forgivong him so easily was just shit icing on the shit cake. Just wow. You're going to forgive him for all that manipulation and genocide just because he had good intentions? Wow. Not to mention his brilliant idea to take away from the whole experience that he should destroy Konoha. That's null now since he wants to be Hokage now. Which is another level of "what the fuck Kishimoto?"
They probably should have gotten rid of all the Uchiha if they all go evil at the drop of a goddamn pin.
I don't even know. I can't stand characters like Aizen. Chessmasters are fine, but Aizen was just ridiculous. I half expect for Super Saiyan Sharingan to happen at this at this point.
Re: If you could delete just one incident from a canon, what would it be?
You totally should! Leverage is boss, and it doesn't suffer from any of the story decay most shows do. It's up on Netflix Instant if you can access the service.
I agree, I do long for the days when Saint Itachi was just some sociopath; simpler times. I swear Kishimoto is literally just making shit up when it comes to Sasuke. I keep getting the feeling that he hasn't had any idea what to do with the kid since Itachi bought the farm, and this mess with him randomly going from wanting to kill everyone to wanting to be Hokage just confirms it. Kishimoto should have come up with a better reason for Sasuke to get back with his team looooong before now. Like I always say, his pacing is terrible, even when he's being predictable.
Yeah, I understand, but it's so hard to feel any differently because it's such bad writing. Hahaha, oh my god, the Uchiha are all crazy because of love. I swear that was the most absurd reveal I'd seen in a shounen manga in a long time, and I sometimes read One Piece. How the hell does that explain Madara? If we don't see Naruto Talk no Jutsu Madara into admitting he's a nutcase because of all these centuries of unrequited love for Hashirama, I'll be very disappointed.
Re: If you could delete just one incident from a canon, what would it be?
(Anonymous) 2014-01-11 05:02 am (UTC)(link)I'm glad to hear that it is a good show and doesn't suffer from seasonal decay. A lot of longrunning shows do and it rare to find one that doesn't. Don't have Netflix, but I will figure out a way to watch it. I think TNT has episodes to watch on their site.
I think it would be easier to say that Kishimoto is and for the most part, always has been making up shit as he went along. He may have had a plan for the Sasuke and Itachi storyling during the beginning of part two, but it either fell apart or he got his head so far up the Uchiha's asses he couldn't see clearly.
Thank you. That makes me feel a bit better about my thoughts on the Uchihas. And that reveal, my god. I don't think anything will be able to top that for me for a while. But I won't be surprised if Kishimoto manages to do it before this damn manga ends. Madara being in love with Hashirama and it being unrequited is the only thing that will make Madara's motovations make any bit of sense. I can't read it as anything else and I don't even have my shipping goggles on.
