In what paralell universe did he redeem himself?

The one where he tried to kill the coven that had hired him to murder his wife

That's not redemption in my book. He was still fulfilling his role as a witch hunter. It would have been better if he had just shot himself in the head and saved himself the trouble.

One person in the coven hired him, and a few others may have known about it. The majority of the people in the salon didn't even know about him.

they weren't a """coven""" they were a group of working class black people who practiced voudon as their religion. Not to mention all the innocent customers who were there. THe only person who was any real threat to the witches got away scot free, and all he did was slaughter over a dozen black people. And for what? His 'redemption?' His bruised ego and pride? If he wanted to REALLY protect Cordelia and her coven he would have used his head and come up with a plan to take Marie Laveau out with precision and stealth. Instead, he went down in a blaze of """"glory."""" As a witch hunter, he was raised to see people who practiced magic as less than human, so it makes sense that he'd see the people under Marie Laveau the same way but nothing about what he did redeemed him.

Also: nothing redeems murdering women for a living.

and all he did was slaughter over a dozen black people.

So no loss then?

You should be ashamed of yourself for making such a disgusting, cruel joke, but you're an overt racist so fat chance of that.

I just wanted to say how much I love this reply.
