Considering that there has to be a preexisting religious community to make the church-building worthwhile, locals have to drum up local and foreign support for workers and funding, locals have to buy and set aside land for the building, locals have to get the necessary government permits (or hire attorneys to do it), and, oh yes, I saw a group of locals with machetes and spears driving the local Muslims out of their community on the news earlier this evening, I'm going to say that you're full of strange prejudices and nonsense.

(And have a strange obsession with colonialism.)

you say "A strange obsession with colonialism", like it wasn't a huge part of the reason indigenous communities or whole social structures have been destroyed or damaged throughout history.

That must be why so many black South Africans are christian.

We must save them from their own religion.

AYART

You don't seem to understand the economic, social, or political factors that drove colonialism. The religious institutions came much, much later AFTER the initial colonizing had been done.

Whatever your hate is for Christianity and agency, it's warping your perceptions.

DA

Wtf are you on about? Religion played a MAJOR part in the Europea colonialism of the 16th century onwards, and they actually used it as justification for the whole thing. Look up those Papal Bulls. Seriously, what, historical facts =/= religious prejudice.

...The Papal Bull related to who could colonize what were related to the New World and are the reason that Brazil is one huge, Portuguese speaking country and the rest of South America speaks Spanish. (And they were STILL in it for the money. Again, religious conversion didn't happen during the first, second, or even third waves.)

South America is not Africa.

And I'm adding a geography book to your assigned texts.
