I understand why people see "Let It Go" as a parallel for any sort of identity secret coming to light, but I'm getting a little sick of mentioning the song and having people say "Elsa is totally a lesbian/trans/asexual" every time. We got it the first thousand times, now buzz off.

No, it was the media who called Merida a lesbian for not wanting to marry and for being tomboyish.

Most of tumblr was actually saying that tomboy =/= lesbian. They were right for once.

Yes, gays should stop trying to relate to normal people stuff, uggh. A song about coming to terms with a "curse" that a character is told to "conceal and not feel" and she spent all of her life locked in a closet (well, room) with the door closed.... how dare gay people find meaning.

seriously, though, I'm more confused at people who refuse to recognize the very obvious parallels. I would be genuinely shocked if the writers didn't ever consider Elsa as "coming out" whether or not it's literal to her sexuality.
