Are you going to specialize in something? Like criminal uhhhh business....medical? I don't know a lot about the education of lawyers.

Right now, I'm really interested in legal services (meaning providing a lawyer for people who can't afford one). I'm particularly interested in immigration law. My internship this past summer was working on asylum cases, and it was pretty much the most amazing experience ever.

Asylum cases as in people seeking it from other countries? Do you have to do a different type for each internship?

No, we can pretty much pick what we want. We just have to get an internship. Right now, I'm working with the US Attorney's office, which has pretty much proven that I don't want to do prosecution.

Yup. Asylum as in people seeking asylum here. I worked both on affirmative cases (meaning people coming here and then seeking asylum) and cases where people were using it as a defense when they were in deportation proceedings.
