I'm not terribly annoyed with how the series has been going so far, but it's irritating me that like the last three chapters have basically been 'one person sits in a bed while everyone else explains/flashbacks something important that happened in the meantime.' At this rate I half expect chapter 54 to open with Armin and Jean sitting in bed while Mikasa and Levi explain how they saved them. Please find a new dramatic device, Isayama.

Yeah, agreed. But Isayama has a bit of a tendency in general to overuse plot devices (like "foiled by hitherto unknown titan powers" for example).
I will laugh and laugh if next chapter features somebody in bed I think he's just not a very polished storyteller, which makes sense.
