Re: Has anyone here ever worked at Starbucks?

(Anonymous) 2014-01-12 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
I've never worked at a Starbucks, but the one time I applied to work at a coffee shop, they didn't hire me because I couldn't give them the hours they wanted. They weren't willing to invest in training someone who could only work 10 hours a week. If you're a student, you will probably be limited in how many hours you can work during the school year (If you don't get the job, you might try again when you are on a school break so you can work as much as they need you at first and cut back when classes start up again). You might be able to mitigate this by being willing to work the "unpopular" shifts like early morning or Friday/Saturday evenings (or whatever they need) provided your schedule allows is.

At this point, working the unpopular shifts is what I'm banking on. At the moment, I basically can work evenings, Fridays, and weekends, and in a few weeks my schedule is such that I'll be able to work any time any day, except Mondays and Wednesdays.
