DA. I think you have no idea what social anxiety actually is. Try to look outside yourself one of these days.

'Not extrovert' is not the same as having social anxiety. And Buster Bluth might show some social anxiety characteristics but Sheldon Cooper sure doesn't. My comment was based on the information given in the secret and the comment the OP made above.

Either way, talking to a cashier is not a big step toward independence, even if it is a personal struggle for this person. So I stand by my comment that maybe they should see a doctor to help them find out why this might be such a problem for them, because there's probably support available.

I have social anxiety. I'm also an extrovert. The two aren't mutually exclusive. Just because I'm comfortable around people once I get to know them, and enjoy being around people does not mean I don't have to psych myself into simple things like picking up a phone or knocking on a door.
