I don't, mostly because I think that would have been OOC. Gon is not exactly a normal person and he has never reacted to many situations in the same way most people would, so *shrug*

While I don't exactly think it's out of character for Gon, I have to say that I agree with you. Leorio punching Ging in the face was incredibly satisfying, and about the only thing I was happy about in the latest arc.

oh wow, Gon actually found his father? I suddenly feel the need to catch up on HxH! I quit sometime in the middle of the Lion Ants arc, when the art had gone really downhill (not his fault, but still), and that arc in general got long for me.

The art always seems to get sketchy when he's been doing an uninterrupted series of chapters for a while, as he gets farther behind or gets more worn out or whatever the case may be. Then he takes a break and cleans up/finishes the art for the compiled volume releases, which look a heck of a lot better. Nearly all the volumes are out in English now, too.

Or you could try the anime -- it's in the middle of the Chimera Ant arc right now, with the attack on the palace just beginning. They take his art and do great things with it.

yeah, I guess I kind of agree. on one hand, gon isn't an angry child but he hero worships his dad and is set on emulating him. and yet the dad is pretty unlikable. as a reader, it makes it harder for me to root gon on when that's his motivation.
