Does your fandom have an anon/kink meme? Or could you find one for a fandom you do like? You could use writing for that as a kind of practice run, maybe, and deanon as you gain confidence?

That's basically what I did, and I eventually became a sort of BNF in my fandom. But not the shitty kind of BNF who just wants adoration and asspats from people.

DA, but I was very active in a fandom a number of years ago and became a BNF without even realizing it. I wasn't aware of it until a couple of years later, when a few people mentioned it in a discussion of the phenomenon in general. And when I then asked an old fandom friend about it, she admitted to me that, because of my status, she had been terrified when she first started talking to me. I was like, "...wha...?"

So, maybe AYRT was that kind of BNF, the kind that's just going about zer business and happens to get big.
