I'm guilty of the giggling thing :/ Did it once. It bothers me in some other languages, but not in English.

I'm with you on everything else, though. Plus, Ron the Death Eater and the verb "to stroke" and all its synonyms. To caress. To pet. Just, no. I can't take it seriously.

Oh, and "luv", "hun", and "pet". Once I saw a Joanlock story where Sherlock used "luv" and "hun". I'll tell you what, I hate Joanlock as it is, but this rubbed me all the wrong ways so badly that I was ready to spontaneously combust.

If any character in a story used "luv" "hun" or "pet" I would not be able to picture anyone except Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the remainder of the scene.
