There are benefits to having a fandom-specific beta, depending on what kind of help you're looking for with your fics. Someone who knows the fandom can pick out characterization and continuity problems that a general SPaG/word-choice beta would miss. Is that something you would find valuable, or do you mostly just want the nuts-and-bolts of your writing itself looked at?
