Re: Small things in fic that drive you insane

I'm not sure if these are "small" things, but things that I dislike in fic are:

first-person POV

stories with multiple POVs

fics that are very dialogue-heavy; writers who seem more concerned with writing witty, snarky dialogue than with telling a story.

pretentious flowery language, stream-of-consciousness writing style.

Violence treated as funny. I enjoy dark humor in certain contexts, but "Character X gets kicked in the nuts" is not a punchline, to me.
