Maybe it's just me, but haven't a lot of the Marvel comics lately been taking a turn for the realistic? Especially due to MCU influence about breadth and depth of powers, injury tolerance, etc. - people seem to be getting hurt and staying hurt more.

Though also, sliding timescale aside, Hawkeye is a lot older now than he used to be. The comics give off this "world weary and exhausted by life" vibe which I'm pretty sure is actually meant to go somewhere, character development and plot-wise.

Not sure what to say about Kate Bishop, though - I've loved her since Young Avengers, and this new Hawkeye run only made me a bigger fan of hers. I can see a variety of reasons why someone might dislike her character, but loathing seems...rather excessive.

"I don't hang out with him. He hangs out with me." <-----Best line in the comics.

I dunno, Hawkeye still looks (and acts) relatively young to me. But like I said, I'm not a major comics fan. He could be 80+ years old and have died three times and have six grown kids in the background. That seems to be the norm for super heroes.

Well during the Hawkeye run, Kate Bishop has also been in Young Avengers, running around with an interdimensional playboy helping a deaged Norse god that is a ghost of himself chase after a timespace eldritch abomination that may or may not have kidnapped her friend's unrelated-twin-brother.

...that makes more sense in context, I swear. Also, the last issue implies that she's at least bicurious, so apparently Young Avengers may actually end up being the first mainstream all-LGBT superhero team. :D

Comics always win for originality. It would be hard to find a cast like that in any other medium.
