I don't mind Moriarty as a villain, but I don't like this version of Moriarty. He just... I don't know. He grates on me.

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure most casual viewers don't know all that many ACD antagonists in general, so I assume the people in charge of remakes worry that introducing new people, even if they're canon, may turn off viewers. It's lazy, but eh. :\ That's my theory, anyway.

I hope he's not really back, though. I can't stand him.
