She's still in a fictional universe where sexism is very much present. If you've seen the Agent Carter one-shot, you'd know the post-war "get back to the kitchen, the boys are back" attitude was still very much part of the era. She had to assert her authority and earn the respect of her recruits in the quickest way possible. Was she supposed to make Hodge run laps or whatever after he insulted her and sexually harassed her? Please.

Additionally, have you had any sort of military training? It's not uncommon, for this to happen in modern day. So sit down.
