I understand getting invested in a character and having strong headcanons about aspects of them (such as sexuality) but...panicking because canon might turn out to not match headcanon? That's kinda over the top.

Plus panicking on such minimal evidence...

Or more like no evidence at all.

You might want to put down the comics and go outside for a bit if the thought of a character being a certain sexuality causes you to panic.

You need to calm down, breathe, and step away from Hetalia for a bit. My gosh.

So you ship with with his sisters, but freak out over him potentially being heterosexual over one line in a fan comic? A fan comic that sounds like it had a lot more issues than that one line? If there are no canonical pairings involving Russia, who cares who head canons him as what?

There's lots of new material coming though! You don't have to participate in the fandom but it's worth looking at.

I would say just stay away from tumblr and all its concomitant cray-cray but unfortunately, that's about the only place anything's happening.

...Calm the fuck down, Himaruya isn't going to confirm any sexualities explicitly. This isn't a romance comic and that's not the focus so it won't happen. Just assume he's not straight and get over it.

... I'll overlook the potential wank and lack of logic on this secret; only to point out that (if it makes you feel any better), in canon Russia is mighty obsessed with Lithuania in a most certain "You are mine" way.

Russia calls Lithuania his 'ex' (which Lithuania disagrees with but all the same), so wouldn't that indicate that he at the very least could be interested in men?

As anon above said, the 'ex' thing was a mistranslation. It was similar along the times of 'used goods' or something pertain to like an ownership of an object.

LMAO, "I'm 100% heterosexual" is actually a perfect characterization of the "actual" Russia with its raging homophobia. Take it with a grain of salt, OP. Russia is probably repressing!

Um, I'm more that it's so horribly OOC because I can't see Russia with his sisters that he has such an awkward relationship with and probably the only people he is genuinely nervous around (Belarus being a yandere and having to walk on eggshells not to upset Ukraine).

There's a reason this is a place for secrets, obviously op knows it's silly.

Then again, I've gotten really upset/panicked over character's sexualities in fanworks too, so. And characters being revealed to have strong leanings in canon has changed the way I look at some, too. It's stupid, but it happens.

Personally I see Russia as asexual, with homo-centric attraction, and only has sex because he understands other people feel that way, and he can use it for power/attempting to 'connect' to people.

And in its way that is just as silly as OP's panicking headcanon, because wild extrapolation and after all, who gives a fuck what sexuality they are?

I'm actually saying everything is just as silly or not-silly as everything else in this fandom, and enjoy what you like and as long as you don't try to force it on anyone else or panic over it, all is good. ;)
