Yeah, she was probably my favorite character in the first book but I slowly began to dread her chapters and now I can barely stand reading them. Don't even get me started on the show.. I think the actress who plays her is very beautiful and people obsess over her a little more because of that, which is perfectly fine but she is pretty annoying haha.

Why, what happens? From what I see, she looks pretty badass.

They just get tiring because her stuff is largely separated from the rest of the series until she eventually crosses over to Westeros

this makes me go D: because she was my favorite in the first book too...having read through the third book, I still like her (even if not quite as much as before), but people keep saying things like this and I don't want my previous favorite to become boring and/or horrible

Just read or watch it yourself, she either gets people who really love or really hate her.

I wouldn't despair. I think she does get a bit annoying in ADWD but... believably so, if that makes sense. Idk, a lot of the stuff that people complain about is basically the result of a) the author's creepy crush on her and/or b) a 15-year-old girl thinking and sometimes behaving like a 15-year-old.

Her chapters started to drag for me in ADWD just because they were repetitive, not because of Dany herself. I think the fact that (highlight for spoilers) she is trying to run a kingdom at the age of fifteen with enemies on all sides and problems closing in around her is impressive. Despite that, she's rather selfless and wants to be a good leader to take care of her people. Not all her decisions are great, but the fact that she's making a legitimate effort puts her ahead of a lot of people vying for the throne.

Especially considering Daario. You have a city to run, the plague has come a'riding, most people with power don't like you, and your babies are eating people! Banging creepy dudes with gold teeth can wait!

I think it's weird that people make such a big deal about Daario. She's a young woman with normal needs and desires. I say good for her for getting what she wanted. I'm pretty sure if a male character who went around conquering cities decided to get laid, nobody would bat an eye.

It's mostly because his physical description does not sound very attractive. Gold teeth don't do it for me, but I guess for a dragon...

Same here. Actually that happened with Tyrion and Jon as well - two other characters I enjoyed initially. And obviously my struggles come from entirely different reasons because those three are not the same sort of character by any stretch.

Really? I was not the biggest fan of any of them as characters (Dany's and Tyrion's storyline I liked) but I really think their problem in ADWD traces back to the same thing, overfocusing in the most popular characters just for the sake of being them. And too much sailing definitely.

Wtf is wrong with you! She's fabulous and NEVER STOPPED BEING SO.
