Story of my life, OP. I realise that it's been a while since I've been in fandom with so many younger fans and my tastes have changed as I got older but GODDAMN in this fandom full of terrible fic. And like you said, the canon source is amazing! So why is there so much shit!?

Also, SNK fandom, Marco dying was sad. It really was. BUT STOP ACTING LIKE JEAN AND MARCO ARE LIKE ROMEO AND JULIET. Jean isn't going to die alone because his BFF died at FIFTEEN.

And I could deal with some bad fic, except that it's really popular and some of my favorite artists are drawing stuff for it and it's made me lose a little respect for them. Like A Drum is just silly fluff, and that's cool, but things like Wisteria? GAG.

Luckily the good stuff is GOOD. They're making a goddamn fan radio play of the series set in space called Attack On Space. I've never seen that in fandom before, it's rad.

Thank you! It's hard to play in a younger sandbox especially when you're used to fans being older. I should probably stop whining and write my own, though ;P

Yeah, the badfic is really popular. I can't with the super-popular Ereri stuff. It's such complete shit.
