Re: F!S ever since New Year's I feel I was hit by a brick.

ayrt

As other anon said, depression can take a lot of different forms even in the same person. I mentioned the sunlight because total-lack-of-motivation depression is something that I tend to get around this time of year, when (where I live) it gets dark early. I don't know your exact circumstances, and getting twenty minutes a day of direct sunlight may not be any more practical than paying for a therapist, but if you can it might be very effective.

That's actually really nice advice. I'm sensitive to daylight changing and just natural things in general (temperature, seasons, weather). Not easy getting all that much sun now, though. Today was an absolutely dreary day.

Seconding seasonal. Many, many people get seasonal depression due to sunlight. Mine varies from year to year. I don't notice it as much now that I'm medicated for clinical depression, but before I got that I got depressed around this time of year.

Going out and doing things always made me feel a lot better. Sitting around is a self-feeding cycle. I bet you'll have fun tomorrow night! Smile, and it *will* make you feel better. I thought that sounded ridiculous at first, but it helped (for mild stuff, like seasonal). And you could always try things like a sunlamp or extra vitamin D - some people swear by that shit for seasonal depression, though I've never tried it.

Feel better~

I already am taking Vitamin D! I actually have a deficiency, so that can't be helping either.
