Haha, another sad thing about SnK is that Levi is in majority of the ships that get all the fic.

I hate Eren x Mikasa with a passion, but you would think they would be a more popular ship. They aren't really.

I think I recced this to someone in an earlier post but I'll rec it again. Gen! Honest to goodness gen! Focuses mainly on Mikasa and Reiner but the rest of the trainee squad get their moments too.

I don't really have any shippy fic for this series because I don't have any particular ship. I like friendship stuff and I like Armin, so that's all I can generally rec here. A couple more I like:

Short, focuses on Mikasa, Eren and Armin during their time as trainees, mostly from Mikasa's point of view.

Heretic by Tentaculiferous
On a mission, Armin runs into one of the guys who bullied him in the first episode. I just like re-reading this one, it's short but enjoyable.

I love that first one! I'm still shocked there's such a well-written gen fic in this fandom.

go read to you two thousand years away, from the boy in the crystal series, that's my favorite one but it has no pairings. that story made me cry actual tears.

and my thumbs up for audacity. if you want to choose one fic out of this thread, that is probably the best choice if you want a pairing.

the author really knows what she's doing.

I'm a Jean/Marco nut but there's some stories that still have some amazing plots.

The Long Way Down

A timeloop AU but a GOOD one. Jean goes from after the Female Titan arc to back to his first day as a trainee in an attempt to save Marco and stop Annie. It does a great job of showing of how Jean struggles with his foreknowledge and experience but knowing too little to know what to do. I adore this fic just for Jean's characterization alone.

Strings

An AU where Marco becomes the bodyguard of rich heir Jean when he's given death threats, but the agency Marco works for is interested in things other than just Jean's safety. Lots of intrigue, plot twists, good detective work, and nice conspiracy drama.

Seconding "The Long Way Down"! Totally forgot that (like many others) in my rec list, but I love it and hope that it updates soon.
