(Anonymous) 2014-01-15 04:12 am (UTC)(link)If it helps, anon, know that I believe EVERYONE has worth, simply by existing. The fact that you're here, alive, right now (and you're lucky enough not to have cerebral palsy), is pretty fucking awesome.
We get told a lot: "Everyone is special! Everyone is capable of being awesome and a millionaire and stopping poverty!"
In way, that's both true, and untrue.
Everyone IS special, simply by existing.
But not everyone will cure poverty. Not everyone will be a millionaire. Honestly, the vast majority of human beings on this planet will live ordinary, quiet lives. They will have their small moments of failure, and their small moments of kindness towards others.
That doesn't make it wasted or inferior. Small things add up to a bigger picture of people as a whole - and on the whole, we aren't so bad. We're pretty awesome, in fact.
