At the risk of being accused of trolling--which is not my intention, I'm genuinely curious--what do all you social justice obsessed types make of Gadreel's buddy Abner? Total dick for hijacking his vessel's family (presumably with all the fringe benefits, without the wife and kid knowing it's not the real Alexander)? Or is it okay because the real Alexander was an abusive ass and Abner, we're given to believe, wasn't?

This. Though I found myself wondering how the family didn't question the change? If he was an abusive ass one day and the next he was magically a loving husband and father, surely someone would've noticed...

Sure, but...if your abusive ass husband/dad suddenly apologized and became a wonderful, loving person would you question and pick at it or would you just be grateful and happy?

I would be terrified he would turn around and become ten times worse, honestly. I just can't help but feel that the family, at least the wife, would've been living more in suspicion and fear than relief.

But eh, it's supernatural. I won't question it too much.

Sure, i think some people would feel that way, and some would just be happy. Especially if his abuses weren't violent or anything, they might just want to leave it alone and not 'stir the pot'.
