18: SO MUCH WORD. You don't know how much I agree and I don't even include myself in the Dr Who fandom. My dad was/is a fan and due to this, I saw all the old ones and he bought every available adventure. All the newbies that only know the recent stuff PISS me off so bad. *hides*

Not everyone has daddies who were fans of Doctor Who. Not everyone has resources available to them, to be able to see the older stuff. Not everyone has the money or parents that are interested in it enough to want to buy it.

I'm sorry for being such a jerk that I can't find a place on the internet to watch classic Dr. Who, and can't possibly afford to buy any of it on DVD.

I'm sorry, really because I WANT TO WATCH CLASSIC DOCTOR WHO SO BADLY but I can't find any place to do it.

I love the new Doctor Who. I am looking forward to the day when I can say the same about the old Doctor Who as well.

Please don't generalize me. Just because I like the new Doctor Who and haven't been able to see the older stuff yet doesn't mean I'm a whiny bitch who isn't willing to look back and see the glory that lies in what came before.

I know what you're talking about. My dad was a fan as well. He discourages the crap out of me to see the older ones because they were so low-tech, despite his love of it. I remember as a toddler seeing it on PBS and my dad watching it Sunday mornings in the early-mid 80s, revealing my age a little.

But seriously, it goes for ANY fandom, IMO. Because honestly, I loved Naruto, but then the fandom drove me out and the story dragged too long for 2+ years in the manga to the point I gave up. Then with Bleach the general bashing and cattyness of those who just watch it on Adult swim and don't read. WHOO! Fandom does kill braincells. Because seriosuly...why all the hate?
