I'm still playing it, to be honest. I got finished with some dessert part and all the levelling you do in each area was killing it ~~softly~~ for me so I took a break.

Yeah... the powerlevelling can get tedious but it's worth it. Wait until you get through the ruins on that end of the continent. Things will pick up a little on the yuri tip.

Would you say it gets easier, the continuous levelling? I guess I'll keep going to the end as I've started it but it'd be nice to know that it cools off abit later on/soon.

I don't know if it gets easier so much as it gets different - the different things you fight require different strategies, and assuming you are collecting items for synthesis and so forth (you should - as a veteran VP player creature-specific weapons and accessories that nullify status effects shouldn't be skipped if possible) there's the angle of not just attacking certain creatures, but attacking them in such a way as to bring about the drops you are looking for. Past the ruins the next potential Dragon Orb site is full of new creatures with new drops which can potentially become new items. But at the same time they will be challenging.

I personally am also of the habit of not solving all the puzzles on the first pass, so if I complete one in the next dungeon that explains something to me that I can use elsewhere, I may go back for that reason as well. Though sometimes I just get fed up and don't bother... I know nobody who's into VP. It's nice to just vent.

I have a bad habit of never using items I receive, unless you mean the ones to get specific parts for weapons? I have been trying to have a go at that as I level up. I actually remember now that I'm in the place with all the thunder, not the dessert area! I only just sort of moved on there so that's why I forgot about it. Is this the good place for drops? I seem to remember there being a good amount of places to go in that area so I'll definitely take my time around there for levelling up and new item drops (not that levelling up will have me do anything else).

You mean like the side places? (Like the mine) or the treasure chest puzzles? If I can see one or can figure out the puzzle then I'll get it, if not then I normally leave it for later so I can go back and breeze through the area without any hassle.
I don't know anyone who's into it either, so I'm glad I posted up the secret. :) It's been nice to talk to the people here about Valkyrie Profile 2!

I think side quest places should always be done, if only because there are things there that cannot be found or done elsewhere, and it can only make your characters stronger and more able to deal with the challenges of the future.

The ruins is a good drop site and the boss is supposed to be good for power levelling (not to mention those trolls and vampire-thingys, they ought to count for something), but I strongly encourage you to go to towns, talk to everyone a couple of times, get those side areas unlocked (like the mine, and Chateau Obsession), and give them a run. You must be pretty good if you can get through all the levels you have without making many items or doing the side areas!

Know that once you beat the next major Dragon Orb site, you will not be able to return to anything you've visited since for a long time. So, between finishing up in the ruins and heading in that direction, you might want to consider more exploration.
