My number one actor crush is gay - he is in a long term relationship, I am in a long term relationship, we will never meet and if we did it would be in a fan/actor capacity.
More than that, I love my partner and want to spend the rest of my life with him. I can think about hooking up with my actor crush, but I'm happy for it to remain in my head. Just like I'm fine with my partner thinking about hooking up with his actor crush (who is Aubrey Plaza).

You adn my antigay brother both say the same thing..but i still feel weird crushing on a gay man, esp. one in a committed relationship. Also on straight men in committed relationship, but it feels worse when by his very definition it's not right to be crushing on him. (OTOH his character is always shown with ladies on White Collar....)

Anyway my point is, saying it doesn't make sense doesn't change my feeling. Because it makes sense to feel weird about the crush in the same place that has the crush. Heart/Soul whatev.
