So I do myself a google search. She goes by "GirlWritesWhat" on youtube.

Yeahhhh, I agree with you.

That whole "I'm not like OTHER girls! Other girls wear makeup and fake tans! I'm cool and quirky and unique!" gets really tired, really fast.

Also when women are like: "Well, I'm a woman, and I don't need or want feminism, and I think I speak for all women when I say this."

I am not sure which I hate more; Women who pull that, "I'm not like other women" when they are trying to pull away from anything feminist. Or radfeminists who pull that, "Oh, you are only saying that because you are trying to get approval from boys" on women who disagree with them.

I wish I can shove both of those groups into a room and let them duke it out.

I think that comparing much of anything with AIDS unironically should be equivalent to a Godwin, unless you're talking about another pandemic such as smallpox in colonial America or the Black Death.

Mm, I don't care for her approach.

She seems intelligent and knowledgeable. Some of the points she addresses aren't without merit; for example, I don't think arguments that male rape is impossible or "not really rape" hold much water either, and taking an excessively ideological approach to ANYTHING (and there most definitely are feminists who are guilty of that) does have some serious pitfalls. Also, she's hardly the first person who's proposed that various social justice issues are ultimately red herrings, deliberately fostered or exacerbated by the economically privileged as a divide-and-conquer tactic to keep the economically disadvantaged from uniting against class-based oppression.

But what good points she does make tend to get lost in sarcasm, overgeneralizations, ad hominem attacks and insults, dismissiveness, and other unseemly behaviors that don't help her case. Her argument for objectivity is undermined by her own very biased approach to her subject.

Wait wait wait.

I didn't even bother watching her videos, because obvious troll thread.

But she honestly argues that it isn't possible for males to be raped? (Or for them to rape other people?)

If she's the one with the "Feminism is to blame for the draft/conscription!!!" video then cancerously stupid is probably an apt description, but that said, this was probably not the right way to start a discussion.

Bringing up some of her beliefs/talking points/arguments would have been more helpful. I ain't got time to watch youtube videos of bullshit, especially since youtube will then keep bringing it up on my dashboard for weeks.
