Oh man, I .... felt like I should have been more upset by Luna's ending, but, erm. Tiger & Bunny fan. If you've seen episode 15 of that, then perhaps you know why I was going "......they're even sitting on a park bench......." the whole time. XD

And I had this crazy theory about Santa and Snake and how they might have been involved in the second game behind the scenes, but the one I liked best about Snake was unfortunately shot down due to timeline discrepancies. Except the game itself is sort of based on timeline discrepancies. So maybe it's not actually shot down? I mean, with these games, NOTHING is off the table. ;)

And I will note that Akane is right up there with Sarah Connor as favorite sci-fi franchise female character EVAR at this point. Zero Escape totally knows how to do right by its women, holy crap. Even the ones that at first glance look like fanservice are SO much more than they appear, and I love all the Zero Escape women, but Akane pushes several of my buttons that have traditionally only ever been pushed by male characters, and I adore her for it.

I have seen only a the first two eps of Tiger & Bunny. It's on my long to watch list! I liked what I saw.

Snake might be involved somehow in the third game. Nothing is off the table with all the time traveling going on. I really don't think Santa would leave his sister alone after playing 999 and since Clover was in VLR, I can't see Snake being far behind her. I would be surprised if Snake didn't show up in the third game in some capacity. Even if he's just mentioned.

I love Akane. She's so badass and her motivations are convoluted... like I still am not sure if she's doing everything for the betterment of humankind or not. She got even more sketchier to me in VLR, but I still love her hard. Her and Junpei have such a sad love story. I have a feeling it won't end well for them.

I love all the females in 999 and VLR. I was kinda sad Clover wasn't as badshit as she was in 999, haha. I love everyone in the games, even if they aren't necessarily "good." The writing for the games is great and the characters are well thought out. I really enjoy the plot twists too. Some I see coming, but others are surprises.

All this talking about the games is making me want the third game so badly now!
pantswarrior: Eroica holding a gun, which is actually far more dangerous than it would appear. (gunsgunsguns!)

Oh man, one reason I love everyone in the games is that NONE of them is good. Or evil. They're all complicated with their own motivations and priorities... as the second game proved, ANYONE is capable of screwing over everyone else in there, given enough reason.

...I ship Akane/Junpei SO HARD, and the way they left it at the end of the second game really only made me ship it more. I love miserable hopeless romances in my fiction. :D I also love the sketchiness... some of the stuff Akane has pulled really wouldn't make someone bat an eye if it was a male character who did it, but the fact that it's a woman doing it just instinctively seems more chilling, because you never get to see female characters acting that way. Sort of made me think about my own inherent assumptions. But either way, undeniably she is, as you said, a total badass - which is particularly awesome after the stuff where for the majority of the first game, all you saw of her was "vulnerable lead female love interest prone to nearly fainting". And then it's like ... WHOA. Okay, totally wrong about her too.

...Regarding Clover, when I was playing VLR, my girlfriend was like "I assume the Clover in this game is not the one from the axe ending, right?" But shortly after she said that, I got to the scene where she was trying to seduce Sigma into betraying ... whoever it was they were teamed with (possibly Quark?). And I was like "Uh, heh... definitely the same old Clover..." And I love the fact that at first glance she seems to be the bubbly airhead, and... well, yeah. No. :D
