This reminds me of the line Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway had discussing Les Mis at an awards show: "Wolverine is being chased by Gladiator. Catwoman gets knocked up and, for some ungodly reason goes to see Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter and Borat. Then Wolverine agrees to raise Catwoman’s baby, and she grows up to star in Mamma Mia."
I would actually want to see that movie more than see Les Mis, lol.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-17 12:24 am (UTC)(link)And why did Cancer Man decide to go deep cover as the French manager of an internationally famous football team?

Because he was undercover, silly, collecting evidence on whether or not Lo Pan was actually an alien.
And Cancer Man always has his reasons, ours is not to wonder why.

Coulson started out in the FBI.
Gibbs was in the Secret Service at one point.
Nancy was the head of a feminist group before she married the guy on Weeds.
Callie Duquesne worked did politics before she started on crime scenes.
But the best part is flipping between WW and Psych, because that's basically like watching Dulé Hill in a time vortex.

After I saw Avengers, I couldn't help but headcanon Robin Scherbatsky in How I Met Your Mother was actually Maria Hill, going undercover in New York City to track down nefarious fraudster the Riddler, whose real identity is womanizing Barney Stinson. And then they become best friends and fall in love. There might be some Dr. Horrible mixed in there... and some Music Meister.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-17 12:37 am (UTC)(link)And I know a lot of people do have a really hard time separating character from actor, but never the less I was kinda miffed because it's a fun game.

For instance in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, there was a scene where Lord Shen got Barty Crouch Sr to stop Sherlock from punching Bane!

Or, you know, the Prestige.
I like to do this too. And so do a lot of other people.
(Anonymous) 2014-01-17 03:39 am (UTC)(link)Honestly, it's almost a right of passage for Canadian-produced shows (and sometimes shows just filmed there). Also, if people ship two characters, sometimes you'll find bizarre crossovers of other characters the actors have played - for example, if you're into Due South's Fraser(Paul Gross)/Ray K(Callum Keith Rennie), you can find Gus(Paul Gross in Buried on Sunday)/Ollie (Callum Keith Rennie in Masterminds).

(Anonymous) 2014-01-17 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)For example, American Hustle is a vague Marvel/DC crossover 70s con artist AU.
Also, a while back, there was a movie with a subplot about Jess Day being in a relationship with Ann Perkins, but she had a thing with Will Graham.
