OP here:

A person obviously still has the right to engage in potentially dangerous sexual behavior if they so choose. The problem is that Shepard's her commanding officer in some sense, so he's putting her (and by extension the entire mission) at risk. It's also uncharacteristically selfish of Tali (though I can understand that she might have gotten carried away—still, it's the CO's responsibility to keep that in check). She knows that the ship's depending on her.

I can't imagine everyone in the crew being okay with it either. You figure Jacob would at least have a problem with that.

OP, what your talking about is a bad decision. Now if you want to say they fucked up, I disagree, but I understand your argument.

The anon I initially responded to was talking about consent.

But that said... Jacob. Having a problem with sleeping with a superior officer.

"heavy risk. But the prizzzzeee"

I meant more that he'd have a problem (given his background) with a CO like Shepard endangering part of his crew in such a way. I don't imagine him objecting to any of the other characters.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that Samara, Joker, Mordin, Garrus, Jacob, Miranda, Kasumi, Thane, Legion, Jack and even Zaeed would all have a problem with it. I think Grunt's the only one who wouldn't really care that much.

I'm pretty sure you're projecting there.

We know for a fact in game canon that Mordin and Joker would not. I really don't think any Asari are going to tell somebody who to sleep with.

With Samar I was going to say that her Code might compel her, but then I remembered she'd sworn herself to Shepard (her Code's fucked up anyway).

As for the others, it seems OOC that they'd be so indifferent to the whole thing. Again, I get it, canon, but it's seems inconsistent for many.

If it's canon it's not ooc. You may not like it, but it cannot be both those things.

except mordin DID have a problem with it, he just ultimately advised caution in having sex with tali. he literally straight up said shepard needed to be careful and there's a reason why. tali could have died, we've told you this. mordin is a grown ass salarian, he's not gonna tackle you to the ground to stop you from fucking somebody. just because he advised the safest way to have sex with tali doesn't mean he was condoning or endorsing shep's shitty decision.

That's a bit of a stretch to say he had a 'problem' with it. He found a problem, doesn't mean he had one. He just cautions you, is all.
