Riker is the pimp AND the ho.

He doesn't even care. He just wants to have a good time with the space women. Riker is down for whatever.

The space women, and also the space dudes, and also the space non-gender-determinate aliens. Riker is the best.

Apparently Jonathan Frakes really pushed to make his love interest in The Outcast male, and was really disappointed when it didn't happen. Jonathan Frakes is the best.

I also heard Gates McFadden pushed hard to have her show more of a nuanced response to her Trill lover suddenly showing up female, but no go. :| The TNG people being on the whole less homophobic than their 1960s counterparts might have been is heartwarming especially when you consider this was the late 80s and early 90s.

I *was* disappointed in circa 1993 when I heard Wil Wheaton had made homophobic remarks in an online chat forum, but I kind of have to give due allowance, and by all reports he's really repented of his dickishness from that era which I assume includes said remarks.
