Really, I like dark (or darker!) anyone. Favorites are those classically good/nice people like Captain America or Watson. I really like when the character hides it from everyone with one exception, like one person knows, but no one else believes them. I saved this really creepy Cap fic where he kills Tony and gloats about it, but no one else catches on.

I also really like when they scare and/or corrupt someone who in canon is thought of as darker. That happens quite a bit in Sherlock fandom.

Oooh, I think I've read that Captain America fic! Also, IIRC, Steve is actually the author's favorite character. :)
