Certain parts of LotR are basically Tolkien's Macbeth AU fanfic ideas. (More specifically, The Last March of the Ents, and Eowyn being the one who kills the Witch-King.)

After I read Macbeth I always thought of it at that part with the Witch-king! That's pretty awesome.
