Well, that's a hell of a dick move on the 'friend''s part.

Also...dumb. Did he plan to drop off the radar after February, forever? Or claim a miraculous recovery?

And if one is planning a 'miraculous recovery', one shouldn't tell people they have PANCREATIC CANCER of all things. There's pretty much NO survival rate for PC. It's almost always silent and asymptomatic usually right up until you're in the too-late-to-do-anything-about-it stage.

This. Only 1 in 4 people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer live longer than a year. Of those who live past their first year, less than 1 in 4 live more than 5 years. It is a very deadly cancer.
