post apocalyptic or outright apocalyptic

Post-apocalyptic sci-fis! I'm...having a pretty decent time of it right now ;)

I just really like survival type stories, I love random hodge-podge science like cobbled together guns, I like...the utter destruction of humanities building blocks and people getting together to adapt and survive with all the new dangers. So mostly post apocalyptic things fall into that kind of movie (still got to have a good story though, Elysium was so goddamn boring).

Don't mind the outright apocalyptic movies either, especially if it's not prevented and you got people just trying to survive afterwards.

That said 'Life After People' was equally cool! When all the human stuff and major human presence is gone (or a scattering of humans) things are going to change a bit!

Be still my beating heart. This is a tie for my other favorite genre. Specifically, Post-Apocalyptic or Dystopian Sci-Fi B or low-budget films THAT ARE NOT ZOMBIE FILMS, preferable from the 70's and 80's (and sometimes 90's).

My fave right now is "America 3000." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejA06nf40D4 ('m gonna stream this sometime.)

Haven't seen this one! (granted probably haven't seen most) *emails to self for later*
A lot over the zombies myself too. State of Decay has been my fave post-apoc game, but none of the...wait, i am Legend was ok, the rest can suck it.

Which has just reminded me of my second fave genre I guess. NATURAL DISASTERS GO. +9000 points if the result is a post apocalyptic wasteland. (I love The Day After Tomorrow I don't care how cheesey it is it fills my pretty natural disaster needs and the science wasn't as bad as it could beee)

I have a giant list somewhere where I've been rating them as a I go then a to-watch list and nrnnrnrrnrnrn

Not really :( Which is actually something I keep meaning to remedy. I own a couple of dystopians (Hunger Games, this one russian dude's book which is a ?classic?) but i keep forgetting to get into the books. :'(

BUT I have a list of to-reads at home! So when I get home I can post them here. Can't personally recommend since haven't read yet, but they're all supposedly good.

/just as happy for books as movies
